Cannabinoid significant extent

Martin Murad·

A significant extent for cannabis means over 100 g THC or over 1 kg dried plant. One defendant imported and stored 332.4 g THC – exceeding the threshold under § 283(2)(c) of the Criminal Code.

A significant extent is ten times the "more than small amount." For cannabis this means over 100 g THC or over 1 kg dried plant. One defendant imported and stored 332.4 g THC (2.916 kg of cannabis) and at least 3 kg of additional dried cannabis. The court held that this exceeded the significant extent and applied § 283(2)(c) of the Criminal Code.
