European Arrest Warrant Lawyer in Czech Republic
A European Arrest Warrant (EAW) allows any EU member state to request the arrest and surrender of a person located in another EU country. If you have been arrested in Czech Republic on an EAW issued by another EU country — France, Germany, Poland, Romania, or any other — you need specialist legal representation immediately.
Czech courts are required to execute EAWs in principle, but they are also required to assess each case. There are recognized grounds under Czech law and the EU Framework Decision to oppose or delay surrender: serious risk of human rights violations, political offense exceptions, ne bis in idem (double jeopardy), Czech nationality protections, incomplete or irregular warrants, and others.
PEERS Law Firm has represented clients in EAW proceedings before Prague courts. We work in English and can advise immediately following arrest. The EAW procedure moves quickly — typically within 60 days — so early legal representation is essential.
